  • Mobility for Labor: Key hip mobility exercises that create space in the pelvis and support baby’s descent.

  • Pushing Mechanics: How to relax and lengthen the pelvic floor, practice effective “bearing down,” and understand the role of pelvic floor PT in preparing for birth.

  • Stages of Labor: A simple breakdown of early labor, active labor, pushing, and delivery of the placenta.

  • Birthing Positions: Various laboring and pushing positions—with or without an epidural—to improve comfort and progress.

  • Comfort Measures: Tools and techniques like massage, heat/cold, birth balls, water, TENS, and partner support.

  • Types of Pushing: Open-glottis pushing vs. Valsalva, including when each is used and the benefits/risks.

  • At-Home Practice: Simple ways to practice pushing and pelvic floor relaxation before labor begins.

This class is designed to help you understand your body, work with your pelvic floor, and move through labor with confidence and support.
